Unity Agreement in Australia
In Australia in 1958 two historical sections of the Christadelphians were rejoined through a Unity Agreement which is found within a document called the unity book. The two groups were called Central, which was the larger worldwide Christadelphian grouping (named after a now defunct church in Birmingham) and Shield.
Unity involved reclarifying the meanings of words summarised in a statement called the Cooper-Carter Addendum.
In a religious group with a system of authority which is highly creedal, reunity is a political process which creates subsequent paper statements requiring agreement.
