Christadelphian Sites
General Sites
The Christadelphians
This is a site which is fairly representative of mainstream Christadelphians and how they would present themselves today.
The Antipas
This site is maintained by someone from one of the very small breakaway Christadelphian groups. It is a good resource site for anyone wanting to research the historical basis of the community and has a huge amount of historical writings that are unmodified.
Christadelphia.org
Has a big listing of Christadelphian websites, mostly historical ones in the Western world, but it is not fully representative of the community. It has big numbers missing in Africa, the developing world and Europe.
The Truth Will Set You Free RECOMMENDED!!
An interesting weblog addressed mainly to Christadelphians. Its stated purpose is to appeal to them to take a fresh look at what the Gospel is all about. Quite a few historical posts.
We Live By The Spirit RECOMMENDED!!
Site containing some articles about legalism and faith, the Holy Spirit, the role of women and where the community is headed today that may be of interest.
One Voice
The limitation of roles for women in the Christadelphian community is a growing area of controversy today. Some believe that the questioning is a result of changes in the roles of women in society today and “women’s lib,” others such as this site contend that the limitation of roles is not scriptural itself. A difficulty for traditionalists is that this area is not covered by existing statements of faith. [archived in Wayback Machine]
Evolutionary Creationism - A Christadelphian Perspective
A site with detailed articles suggesting Christadelphians should embrace evolution and have no reason to fear it would destroy their beliefs. This is not a mainstream view, but is one increasingly being raised by a growing minority of Christadelphians. Sometimes this does lead to disfellowshipping, although there is nothing specifically in the statements of faith forbidding this belief.
The Berea Forum
A forum with detailed articles by Christadelphians who advocate that the community should embrace the theory of evolution. In doing so, they suggest a non literal rendering of Genesis and other parts of the Bible they see as in conflict with modern science. This is not so strange as it might seem once we appreciate the rationalistic origins of the community lie in the period known as the “Age of Enlightenment” and the role that has taken in formulating Christadelphian beliefs. This has resulted in the denial of many supernatural elements in the New Testament in particular. This cognitive bias explains to some degree their unique interpretations of the Bible and informs their view of the Holy Spirit, the devil and demons and is dealt with in our article on the supernatural.
David Browns Website
A site written by a Christadelphian who suggests the community should adopt evolution as God’s method of creation since the scientific evidence is overwhelming. Promotes an altered view of Biblical inspiration and suggests that Genesis should not be taken as a literal account of events. Suggests God has “two words,” the Bible and the physical world we live in and the two cannot contradict each other.
Christadelphian Care
A Christadelphian site set up to explore care issues which historically have tended to be overlooked and treated as though they do not exist within the community.
Christadelphian Hymnody
A thesis written on Christadelphian music, its forms and history.
50 Years a Christadelphian
A Christadelphian reminiscing over his 50 years as a Christadelphian.
The History of Christadelphians in Eastern Europe
Worth a read by anyone wanting to consider how the Christadelphian community may evolve. Written by Duncan Heaster who has been instrumental in growth of the movement in Eastern Europe and who has been controversial in the community being supported by some elements and considered out of fellowship by others.
Magazines
Logos
Once very widely read and regarded as a stalwart defender of historical Christadelphian positions.
The Endeavour RECOMMENDED!!
A difficulty that many Christadelphians have faced is that there is little freedom to discuss many aspects of doctrine and faith without facing the real possibility of disfellowship. This magazine was produced by liberal Christadelphians originally to enable that. It was seen as a threat several years ago by more conservative Christadelphians.
